1. NSDC operated 2 sites across this time period, it is difficult to provide a precise answer as to how many pitches were in use as this would be dictated by the demand from local clubs/teams. However, the two sites are capable of hosting 6 full size pitches (4 plus 2) and additional small side pitches where space and demand required.
2. The pitches were closed down during covid and the pitches at the smaller site were re-opened as soon as was permissible. The pitches at the larger site have not re-opened to the public post pandemic due to investigatory/exploratory trenching across the site linked to a regeneration project which is progressing. The resulting scheme will see an overall reduction in the amount of green space/sports pitches at the site and will effectively reduce the number of pitches by 1 full size pitch when each scheme commences in 2025, however, the retained pitches will be improved in terms of quality and improved ancillary provision is part of the approved master plan.
