Request

I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Please can you provide the following details:
1. The total amount your council has spent to date on activities related to local government reform or reorganisation in Nottinghamshire.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Staff time and resources
Consultancy fees (e.g. PwC or other external advisors)
Communications and engagement (e.g. surveys, public meetings, printed materials)
Legal or governance-related costs
Any other associated expenditure
2. A breakdown of this spending by category, if available.
3. The source(s) of funding for this work (e.g. council reserves, central government grants, pooled funding with other councils).
4. Any forecasted or budgeted future spending on local government reform, if available.

Response

The costs below are those that have been incurred on behalf of all 9 Councils participating in the LGR process across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. These costs have been funded by grant from Central Government and have not been therefore a cost to the Council Taxpayer:

Consultancy £275,000
Communications and engagement £22,850
Legal costs £4,000

Please note staff time is not recorded and we cannot provide that information.
In addition, the Council has incurred £25,345 and is planning to spend a further £11,951, which includes further consultancy, communication and engagement and a dedicated officer 60% of their time until the submission of the bid in November.
