I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding the disposal and sale of sports and leisure facilities.

1. Number of Facilities: The total number of sports facilities sold or disposed of during this period.
2. Asset Details: For each facility, please provide:
2a. The type of facility (e.g., "Leisure Centre," "Football Pitch").
3. Financial Value: The final sale price (or "consideration") received by the Council for each asset. If the asset was transferred for a nominal sum (e.g., via Community Asset Transfer), please state this.
4. Square Footage/Size: The total square footage (GIA) or acreage (for outdoor pitches/land) of each facility or site sold.
5. Buyer Category: Whether the facility was sold to a private developer, a community group, or another public body.
I would prefer to receive this information in an electronic format, ideally a machine-readable spreadsheet (such as .xlsx or .csv).

Response

1/ One leisure centre including full size artificial turf pitch and 6 lane shale running track closed and demolished but replaced by a new leisure centre, new artificial turf pitch and synthetic running track

2/ Grove Leisure Centre

2a/ See question 1

3/The Council operated from Grove Leisure Centre but did not own it, this was owned by  Nottinghamshire County Council. There was significant capital cost to the council to re-provide. It was part of a wider new school build project on the same site.

4/ Details not available for what was lost in terms of GIFA but reprovision of new leisure centre includes more water space, larger gym, standard 4 court sports hall and associated facilities which are space efficient.

5/ Not applicable
